Social Responsibility Practices

  • Gertal Educa - Healthy Eating Programme for children (conducted in 130 schools, reaching a population of 15,000 children and parents),
  • Nutrition counselling for employees of our customers' companies,
  • Training sessions on food and dietetics held in dozens of our customers' facilities, (e.g. "Healthy Eating" Cooking Course - with presentation of five topics - Starters, Soups, Pasta, Salads and Sandwiches),
  • Implementation of the measures "Salt-free Soup" and "Low-salt Bread",
  • Gift of a Pedometer on International Health Day,
  • Launch of a new paper towel with food education messages (1,000,000 units per month),
  • Launch of campaigns such as "Consumo Consciente" (Conscious Consumption) and "Tabuleiro Solidário" (Solidarity Tray), providing our customers with guidelines on how to avoid waste, converting the results into free food donations to the Food Bank;
  • Signing of the "RIGHT TO FOOD DECLARATION", with Trivalor serving as a member of the Honorary Committee. As a result of this commitment, protocols have already been signed with customers that translate into the production of more meals than needed so that some can be donated to social welfare institutions.
  • Protocol with the Centro Pedro Arrupe, a Jesuit centre set up to train refugees in cooking and meal production.
  • Protocol established with the association "Dar i Acordar", in which vending products like pastries and sandwiches that are due to expire that day or the next day are made available daily for distribution to different private social welfare institutions IPSS;
  • Donations of food and donations that can be converted into food to entities like the Banco Alimentar Contra a Fome (Food Bank) or the Associação Bagos d'Ouro association;
  • Forwarding computer consumables to benefit Ajuda de Berço, Liga Portuguesa Contra a Sida, Ajuda de Mãe, Casa do Gaiato, Associação Portuguesa dos Deficientes and AMI charitable institutions,
  • Providing free cleaning service to the Food Bank (at the Lisbon Area Wholesale Food Market);
  • Food safety training for the employees of Entrajuda;
  • Providing assistance for social responsibility projects carried out by our customers, as in the case of the Banco de Portugal (Central Bank).
